A Successful Breakfast!

To say that our fundraising breakfast was a success is an understatement. There were approximately 50 men in attendance, as well as a few extras who came after the 7 a.m. Mass at St. John Cantius.

Here, Rich Cash and Chris Larson are busy the night before, cracking eggs for the egg-bake. In the background, Marc Dvoracek is slicing bread and Jim Wildeson is pre-cooking the sausage links.

To the left, Mike Rydberg and Jay Pederson configure the griddles so as not to blow any circuits in the church basement.

In all, over $8,284 in donations and pledges were made. Adding the Minnesota Foodshare 1-1 match for donations made to Catholic Charities Emergency Food Shelf during the month of March, the actual impact of our donations is $10,947. Pretty impressive for one morning breakfast!

Of course, all of the food, beverages, and paperware was donated by local area businesses and individuals, which means that every dollar raised will go directly to help individuals locally.

Steve Bresnahan, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud, was on-hand to share a word of thanks and an anecdote about the Food Shelf's usage.

A good time was had by all, provoking some to suggest, "we should do this every few months."
